The COVID-19 pandemic has caused large shifts in people’s daily lives and each person has had to discover a new way to operate. I developed the theme of this collection around my own interpretation and experience of the “work from home” environment. Everyone has been trying to find a good balance in life between work and relaxation without a very clear separation between the space used for each.On top of this it can be difficult to find much comfort in these trying times,and often it seems that life has lost some of its vibrancy.

The bystander effect occurs when the presence of
others discourages an individual from taking action in response to crisis. Nowadays, when emergency situations happen in public, people often time choose to observe rather than intervene. I want to use this collection to ask a simple question: why don’t we act and help? My research includes looking at scientific studies and the different incidents that manifested the bystander effect.
